The Necklace Road
Hyderabad, known as the city of pearls, is famous not only for its rich cultural past and monuments but also for modern edifices and well laid parks. It abounds in a variety of parks and pubs for entertainment and relaxation. The Necklace Road is the best of them. It is full of greenery and it overlooks the serene Hussain Sagar forming a circle around. This stretch of road, along with the Tank Bund, appears in the form of a necklace when seen from a great height, hence the name. It is studded with beautiful lawns, recreational facilities and restaurants. People’s Plaza, all along this road, is a recreational area which is busy throughout the year with exhibitions, music concerts, sports, games, etc. Eat Street and Water Front are two well known restaurants. Eat Street is more of a fast food centre and Water Front offers different kinds of food. Both these centres offer a delightful view of the lake apart from the city. What’s more, this road runs along parks such as Jogi Bear Park and Sanjivaiah Park. Both these parks provide excellent environment with fresh air, eyeful of greenery and sounds of nature. The latest attraction on the Necklace Road is Jalavihar, an amusement park. This stretch is frequented by early morning joggers. It is also the ideal place for marathon runs and evening hangouts. It is easy to visit the Necklace Road. The nearby MMTS station connects it to all major parts of the city.
